If you have a large property in rural Scotland say, that you wouldn't mind
'donating to the cause', plus free upkeep, etc. Nah, forget it - I'm dreaming! But, you
never know...
These would be communes in which Open Source developers could work together, but at minimal cost. Ideally, they'd be self-financing (just like the old monasteries) providing some service to the local community, e.g. telecottage facilities, IT service & support, cyber-cafe, bespoke software development, etc. |
